Gosforth Central launches community events to raise funds for new playground

Community members have a place to gather, place, shop and relax thanks to monies raised.

Gosforth Central is working closely with Newcastle City Council since it took over management of Gosforth Central Park in April 2025.  We are committed to using our events to raise funds for a major refurbishment of the children's playground and have established a charity, Gosforth Community Foundation, to spear-head the fundraising.

This year, we will be repeating our Royalty Cinema, a weekend of family films in the park, on 5-6 June, and have also arranged for the return of The Three Inch Fools outdoor theatre on 27 June.  Both attracted over 1,500 people last year to the park and raised much needed funds for our campaign.

We are now working with other community stakeholders with new events added for this year.  These include K-Pop discos at South North Cricket Club on 14 March and a family magic show, The Great Baldini in the Curious Case of the Masked Magician, at Gosforth Civic Theatre on 7 November.

Gosforth Central has been holding community events since 2023 to raise funds for the suburb and Gosforth Central Park.  Previous year's events have since the installation of a defibrillator on the back of the centre and the refurbishment of a zip wire and climbing frame in the children's playground.
